cdpfleet vs Airtop
A fleet of real browsers you drive with Playwright, priced per thread with published rates, against a cloud browser for AI agents billed in credits whose rates aren't published. Prices, limits and features side by side.
Airtop is a cloud browser built for AI agents: you start a session through its API and either let its AI operations read and act on the page in natural language, or connect Puppeteer, Playwright (connectOverCDP) or Selenium to the session's CDP endpoint. Its agent product, Mark, builds on the same sessions. Usage — browser time, proxy traffic and AI calls — is billed in credits from a monthly allowance. cdpfleet is a fleet of 12 real desktop browsers launched with one HTTPS call and driven with the Playwright protocol from five languages, with per-second metering and published prices.
| cdpfleet | Airtop | |
|---|---|---|
| Browsers | 12 — Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Naver Whale, Yandex Browser, Chromium, Patchright, Rebrowser, Camoufox, Firefox, WebKit, plus hardware Android phones and iOS WebView in early access. Chrome with stable, beta and dev channels and pinned previous majors. | Chromium, driven over CDP; no other engines or version choice documented. |
| How you connect | Playwright protocol: connect(wsUrl) with the matching Playwright client from Node.js, Python, Java, C# or Go — all contexts you like. Or "cdp": true on Chromium-based browsers for Puppeteer and connectOverCDP (CDP & Puppeteer). | Session API plus a CDP endpoint for Puppeteer, Playwright connectOverCDP and Selenium; examples in Node.js and Python. "Airtop does not currently support multiple contexts" — use the default context. AI operations (query, act, scrape) on the page in natural language. |
| Session length | Up to 24 h (shared threads: also capped by your remaining daily minutes). Idle timeout 120 s by default, up to 10 min on shared threads and 24 h on dedicated. | Idle timeout 10 minutes by default, configurable (timeoutMinutes); no maximum session length documented. |
| Metering | Per second, as thread-seconds: a headless browser is 1 thread, headful 2. Billing stops when the WebSocket closes. Prices per thread are on the pricing page. | Credits for browser CPU time, proxy bandwidth and AI calls; sessions billed in 30-second increments. How many credits a browser-hour, a GB or an AI call costs isn't published — the API reports credits used per call. |
| Plans | Free Community plan (invite-only for now): 2 threads, 60 browser-minutes per thread a day, 15-minute sessions, proxies included. Paid from $5.00/month (5 shared threads, 60–480 browser-minutes a day per thread); dedicated threads for 24/7 use at $5.00/thread/month. Pricing. | Free: 1,000 credits a month (plus a 10,000-credit one-time bonus), 3 simultaneous sessions. Starter $29/month: 30,000–150,000 credits depending on the billing term, 3 sessions. Professional $189/month: 225,000–500,000 credits, 30 sessions. Enterprise $558/month: 775,000–1,500,000 credits, 100 sessions, SOC 2 Type 2. Custom above. |
| Concurrency | The threads you buy: 5 to 10,000 (more on request), 2 on the free Community plan; each session takes 1–4 threads by type. | 3 (Free, Starter), 30 (Professional), 100 (Enterprise) simultaneous sessions. |
| Proxies | Bring your own HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 proxies — single, pool, or per-host rules (proxy_rules) — swap a running session's proxy live, see traffic per destination host and per rule; traffic through them is free. Or the cdpfleet residential proxy: 4 tiers from $0.50 to $5/GB from one prepaid balance ($5 free credit), mixable per host — e.g. Tier 4 for CDN assets, Tier 1 for pages. A launch without a proxy uses the free Community proxy — best effort, no guarantees. | Built-in residential proxy (US by default, other countries or global; sticky for up to about 30 minutes; some site categories such as banking, Netflix, Ticketmaster and LinkedIn are blocked), billed as bandwidth credits; or your own proxy. The plan table lists "Integrated" (Starter) and "Custom" (Professional) proxies. |
| Stealth | Real browsers by default (genuine Chrome, Edge, Brave…), headful by default, and three stealth builds — Patchright, Rebrowser, Camoufox — on every plan. | One Chromium; automatic CAPTCHA solving (reCAPTCHA, hCaptcha and others) when enabled, or third-party solver extensions. |
| Watching a session | Live view with human takeover — Watch / Take control in the dashboard, or a link from the API — and Launch interactive: open any browser on a start page straight into live view from the dashboard's code generator (start_url over the API). Session recordings as MP4 (480p free, 720p or 1080p on a plan), and JPEG frames to your code with page.screencast. | Live view of a session that a person can use. |
| Persistence | Persistent profiles keep cookies, local storage and IndexedDB between sessions (paid plans); Playwright storageState; keep_alive to reconnect to the same browser on dedicated threads. | Profiles: cookies and local storage saved when the session is terminated, restored by name, encrypted at rest (AES-256). |
| Agent tooling | None of its own: Playwright works with any agent framework or LLM; the code generator's For AI tab writes a prompt an assistant can use right away. | AI operations on pages and the Mark agent product; LLM costs passed through as credits without markup. |
| Examples | 58 cases run on production in five languages, all on GitHub with their output. | Guides and examples for Node.js and Python. |

Which one, when
Pick Airtop if…
- You build an AI agent and want natural-language page operations, CAPTCHA solving and an agent product from one vendor.
- Your sessions are few and short, so a fixed monthly credit allowance covers them.
- You need a SOC 2 Type 2 report.
Pick cdpfleet if…
- You want to know what a browser-hour costs before you run it: per-thread prices and per-second metering are published.
- The site must see a specific real browser or version — Chrome channels, Edge, Brave, Opera, Firefox, WebKit, Camoufox — or a phone.
- You use several browser contexts per session, or the Playwright protocol from Java, C# or Go.
- Sessions run for hours, or many at once: dedicated threads at a flat monthly price, 5 to 10,000 threads.
- You want to start free — the Community plan includes proxies — and try a browser in live view before writing any code.
