cdpfleet vs Browser Use Cloud
The cheapest per-hour cloud browser for AI agents against a fleet of real browsers: one stealth Chromium over CDP at $0.02/hour plus traffic fees, or twelve browsers over Playwright or CDP with free traffic through your own proxies. Prices, limits and features side by side.
Browser Use is best known for its open-source agent library; Browser Use Cloud adds hosted browsers for it and for anyone else: a hardened, stealth-by-default Chromium you reach over CDP with Playwright or Puppeteer, residential proxies in 190+ countries switched on by default, automatic captcha solving, profiles, a live URL, recordings and an agent API billed as model cost plus 20%. cdpfleet is a fleet of twelve real desktop browsers — Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Naver Whale, Yandex Browser, Chromium, Patchright, Rebrowser, Camoufox, Firefox and WebKit — launched with one HTTPS call and driven over the Playwright protocol or CDP from five languages. On paper Browser Use is the cheaper hour; what you pay in total depends on traffic, session length and which browser the site needs to see.
| cdpfleet | Browser Use Cloud | |
|---|---|---|
| Browsers | 12 — Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, Brave, Opera, Naver Whale, Yandex Browser, Chromium, Patchright, Rebrowser, Camoufox, Firefox, WebKit. Chrome with stable, beta and dev channels and pinned previous majors; Camoufox with pinned versions. | One: a managed, hardened Chromium fork with stealth always on (randomised canvas, WebGL, fonts and navigator per session); it can't be turned off. |
| How you connect | Playwright protocol (connect(wsUrl), client 1.60) from Node.js, Python, Java, C# and Go — or "cdp": true for a cdpUrl: Puppeteer, connectOverCDP or any CDP client (CDP & Puppeteer). | CDP only: Playwright connectOverCDP or Puppeteer connect on cdpUrl; Python and TypeScript SDKs. Selenium is not supported. |
| Ending a session | Closing the connection ends the session and the billing; an unused session ends after 60 seconds. | Closing the CDP connection does not stop the browser — you must call the stop API, or it runs (and bills) until its timeout or idle cleanup (~20 minutes). |
| Session length | Up to 24 h (shared threads: also capped by your remaining daily minutes). Idle timeout 120 s by default, up to 10 min on shared threads and 24 h on dedicated. | 60 minutes by default, 4 hours at most. |
| Browser time | Free Community plan (invite-only for now): 2 threads, 60 browser-minutes per thread a day, 15-minute sessions, proxies included. Per second, as thread-seconds. Shared: $0.02–$0.03 per browser-hour at full use; dedicated $0.0069/hour ($5.00/month for a browser around the clock). A headful session takes 2 threads. | $0.02 per browser-hour, rounded up to whole minutes with a one-minute minimum. Prepaid credits from $5; $1 free once. |
| Traffic through your own proxies | Free — HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5, single, pools or per-host rules, with live swap and per-host traffic stats. Or the cdpfleet residential proxy, 4 tiers from $0.50 to $5/GB. | $0.20 per GB through a custom proxy. |
| Residential proxy | cdpfleet residential: 4 tiers from $0.50/GB ($5/GB at Tier 1), $5 free credit, by country, device OS and sticky session; optional — every session can use your own proxy instead. | $5/GB, on by default (US residential unless you choose a country or turn it off). |
| Concurrency | The threads you buy: 5 to 10,000 (more on request). | Grows with lifetime spend: 10 sessions at $0, 50 from $100–200, 250 from $1,000, up to 1,000 from $25,000. |
| Stealth | Real browsers by default (genuine Chrome, Edge, Brave…), headful by default, and three stealth builds — Patchright, Rebrowser, Camoufox. See headless tells. | Stealth Chromium fork with per-session fingerprints, ad and cookie-banner blocking. |
| Captcha solving | Not built in. Use any solver through Playwright. | Automatic, on by default. |
| Watching a session | Live view with human takeover — Watch / Take control in the dashboard, or a link from the API — and Launch interactive: open any browser on a start page straight into live view from the dashboard's code generator (start_url over the API). Session recordings as MP4 (480p free, 720p or 1080p on a plan), and JPEG frames to your code with page.screencast. | A live URL per session, and optional recordings with a download link. |
| Persistence and extensions | Persistent profiles keep cookies, local storage and IndexedDB between sessions (paid plans); Playwright storageState; keep_alive to reconnect to the same browser on dedicated threads. No extensions. | Profiles keep browser state between sessions; up to 3 Chrome extensions per session. |
| Agents | None of its own: Playwright works with any agent framework or LLM. | The Browser Use agent as a service: model cost + 20%, plus browser and traffic charges. |
| Where the browser runs | Servers in the EU (Germany and Finland); your proxy decides where traffic exits. | US by default; an EU deployment in Frankfurt. |
| Examples | 58 cases run on production in five languages, all on GitHub with their output. | Agent library examples and quickstarts in Python and TypeScript. |

Which one, when
Pick Browser Use Cloud if…
- You run Browser Use agents and want the browser, proxies, captcha solving and model billing in one place.
- Your sessions are short and light on traffic, so $0.02/hour with per-minute billing is the whole bill.
- You want extensions out of the box.
Pick cdpfleet if…
- Your traffic goes through your own proxies — it costs nothing extra here, against $0.20/GB there.
- The site must see a specific real browser or version: Chrome channels and pinned majors, Edge, Brave, Firefox, WebKit, Camoufox — or you need stealth off.
- Sessions run longer than 4 hours, or around the clock on a flat-priced dedicated thread.
- You want the Playwright protocol in Java, C# or Go, or per-second billing that stops the moment the connection closes.
- You want to start free — the Community plan includes proxies — and try a browser in live view before writing any code.
