cdpfleet vs Browserbase

Thirteen real browsers over the Playwright protocol with your own proxies, or Chromium over CDP with built-in proxies, Stagehand and captcha solving. Prices, limits and features side by side.

Browserbase is the best-known cloud browser for AI agents: hosted Chromium you connect to over the Chrome DevTools Protocol, with Stagehand (its agent SDK), built-in residential proxies, captcha solving, live view and session replay. cdpfleet is a browser fleet: thirteen real desktop browsers — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Opera, Whale, Yandex, Chromium, Patchright, Rebrowser, CloakBrowser, Camoufox, Firefox and WebKit — launched with one HTTPS call and driven over the Playwright protocol from five languages, through proxies you bring. They overlap on "a browser in the cloud, billed by the hour" and differ on almost everything around it.

Session lengthUp to 24 h (shared threads: also capped by your remaining daily minutes). Idle timeout 60 s by default; up to 24 h on dedicated threads.6 h maximum (Scale: "6+"). Default and per-session timeouts configurable; keep-alive across disconnects on paid plans only.
MeteringPer second, as thread-seconds: a headless browser is 1 thread, headful 2. Billing stops when the WebSocket closes.Browser hours included in the plan, then a per-hour overage; concurrency capped per plan.
PlansFrom $10.00/month (10 shared threads). Shared threads: 60–480 browser-minutes a day per thread; dedicated threads for 24/7 use at $5.00/thread/month. Pricing.Free: 1 browser hour, 3 concurrent, 15-minute sessions. Developer $20/month: 100 hours then $0.12/hour, 25 concurrent. Startup $99/month: 500 hours then $0.10/hour, 100 concurrent. ProxiesBring your own HTTP, HTTPS or SOCKS5 proxies — single, pool, or per-host rules (proxy_rules) — swap a running session's proxy live, see traffic per destination host and per rule. No proxies sold: no per-GB fee. A proxy is required for every session.Built-in residential proxies, metered per GB (1 GB included on Developer then $12/GB; 5 GB on Startup then $10/GB) with geolocation; custom proxies supported.
StealthReal browsers by default (genuine Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox…), headful by default, and four stealth builds — Patchright, Rebrowser, CloakBrowser, Camoufox — on every plan. See the headless tells and Camoufox vs Patchright pages.Basic stealth mode on Developer and Startup; "Verified" real-fingerprint browsers and advanced stealth on Scale only.
Captcha solvingNot built in. Use any solver through Playwright.Automatic solving of supported captchas on paid plans.
Watching a sessionPlaywright tracing (time-travel trace with screenshots and DOM snapshots) and video recording work over the connection — see session replay without a vendor. Which one, when

Pick Browserbase if…

  • You want Puppeteer, Selenium or raw CDP rather than Playwright.
  • You build agents with Stagehand and want proxies, captcha solving and session replay from one vendor.
  • You need persistent profiles (Contexts) or Chrome extensions.

Pick cdpfleet if…

  • Your site must see a specific real browser — Chrome, Edge, Brave, Firefox — or a specific Chrome version or channel.
  • You already have proxies and want per-host routing, live swaps and traffic per destination instead of per-GB proxy fees.
  • You run browsers for hours or around the clock: 24-hour sessions, dedicated threads at a flat monthly price, per-second metering.
  • You work in Java, C# or Go as well as Node.js and Python.

Try it

The quickstart is one HTTPS call and five lines of Playwright; the code builder writes the launch for any browser and option set in your language.
